Bond Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Probate assistant / paralegal This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leader with in the law industry.

Key responsibilities
Paralegals assist attorneys with a number of responsibilities and duties. As a probate paralegal you may find employment in a law firm, probate court or nonprofit organization. Assignments will involve cases and work relative to estate planning, guardianship/conservatorship and tax/business planning. Probate paralegals work with attorneys in fulfilling the wishes of a client's last will and testament or provide professional help in an adoption or custody case.
Collecting Information
Many attorneys use paralegals to collect and gather information relative to their cases. In this role you may be instructed to interview bank personnel concerning assets, conduct estate inventories, talk with family members relative to guardianship requests or meet with charitable beneficiaries to verify receipt of entitlements. Often the paralegal will also assist clients in completing life insurance forms, bank requests and other documents following a death.
Preparing Documents
A probate paralegal must have strong writing skills as much of the job will involve drafting and preparing legal documents. Some documents you may prepare include wills, pleadings, motions, petitions, guardianship applications and power of attorney requests. In a firm more involved with trusts and estates, a paralegal may also draft business plans, financial reports, and prepare both income and estate tax returns.
Maintaining a Calendar System
Organization is crucial to the success of a probate paralegal. Your attorney will look to and depend upon you to maintain a calendar which includes dates and deadlines for filing documents and entering motions. Additionally, dates for meetings, appointments and court hearings will be recorded and kept on the calendar system.
Filing Documents
Probate paralegals may be required to file documents with the courts and other entities in a timely manner. This may include court papers such as motions and petitions, as well as outside documents like tax forms and life insurance policy claims. On a daily basis you may travel to the courthouse to file papers and will work closely with court personnel like probate clerks.

Personal specification:
Experienced Probate Assistant/Paralegal reporting to our Probate Manager in our busy and growing private client department. The successful applicant will be interested in all aspects of private client work, particularly Wills and trusts. Good communication skills and experience in dealing with clients are essential. They will be good at working as part of a team and must be adaptable as the role will develop and grow. Driver with own vehicle an advantage
